Have you ever wanted to just
escape? A short while ago I did just that. I packed up my wife and kids, left
the oppressive heat of the desert, and moved to the Oregon coast. As I sit
writing this, the tide is going out on my right. The constant thrum of the
crashing waves tells me I am home. This is the right place for me. This
is a place where life will bloom. This is the place that inspires me. Most
people live life always feeling like they are missing something. For me, with
the ocean as my front yard, I feel connected in a way I never knew or felt in
the desert. I am very fortunate.
To make a long story short: this
blog is being re-purposed to be a journal, or a repository for the things that
excite passion in me. I will chronicle crafts, hobbies, and home improvement
projects that I undertake to make life more affordable, more aesthetic, more pleasurable,
or at least make life more interesting than watching TV. I hope you will follow
my journey. I hope this will become a forum of sorts. I hope you feel welcome
to post
questions, input, and criticism as I try to Live Life Artfully.
